چکیده

Abstract Manufacturing activities release an extensive quantity of wastes containing hazardous materials like hexavalent chromium [Chromium VI, Cr(VI)] into the surroundings, threatening human health and ecosystem. Fungi can be utilized as efficient Cr(VI) remediation implement. The six isolates dark septate endophytic (DSE) fungi (KSP, CPP, PP, DD, K.III.3.4, TKC) were evaluated for their tolerance removal ability various concentrations (10, 30, 50 mg/L). quantification was analyzed using 1,5-diphenylcarbazide method by UV-Visible spectrophotometer (Hitachi-U 2900). results showed that all DSE highly tolerant to up mg/L with a index (TI) 0.89-1.22. These fungal strains no significant growth (p > 0.05) from controls. Furthermore, test exhibited capacity 99% Cr(VI). indicated are potential agents bioremediation polluted surroundings manufacturing wastewater. It is first report on remove

Seeking the elusive function of the root-colonising dark septate endophytic fungi

A comparison of published estimates of mycorrhizal and dark septate endophyte (DSE) colonisation from various ecosystems suggests that DSE may be as abundant as mycorrhizal fungi as judged by the proportion of host plants colonised in mixed plant communities, or by the extent of colonisation in sampled root systems. While many strides have been made in understanding the ecological significance ...

Dark Septate Endophytic Fungi Help Tomato to Acquire Nutrients from Ground Plant Material

Dark septate endophytic (DSE) fungi are facultative biotrophs that associate with hundreds of plant species, contributing to their growth. These fungi may therefore aid in the search for sustainable agricultural practices. However, several ecological functions of DSE fungi need further clarification. The present study investigated the effects of DSE fungi inoculation on nutrient recovery effici...

The Dark Side Is Not Fastidious – Dark Septate Endophytic Fungi of Native and Invasive Plants of Semiarid Sandy Areas

Dark septate endophytic (DSE) fungi represent a frequent root-colonizing fungal group common in environments with strong abiotic stress, such as (semi)arid ecosystems. This work aimed to study the DSE fungi colonizing the plants of semiarid sandy grasslands with wood steppe patches on the Great Hungarian Plain. As we may assume that fungi colonizing both invasive and native species are generali...

Dark septate endophytic pleosporalean genera from semiarid areas.

Dark septate endophytes (DSE) are distributed worldwide as root-colonising fungi, and frequent in environments with strong abiotic stress. DSE is not a taxon, but constitutes numerous fungal taxa belonging to several orders of Ascomycota. In this study we investigate three unidentified DSE lineages belonging to Pleosporales that were found previously in semiarid sandy grasslands. For molecular ...

The Response of Dark Septate Endophytes (DSE) to Heavy Metals in Pure Culture

Dark septate endophytes (DSE) occur widely in association with plants exposed to heavy metal stress. However, little is known about the response of DSE exposed to heavy metals. In this study, five DSE were isolated from the roots of Astragalus adsurgens Pall. seedlings growing on lead-zinc mine tailings in China. Based on morphological characteristics and DNA sequence analyses, the isolates wer...
